American Action Fund-Braille Books Program

Your child can receive monthly free braille books. 

 

APH and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Audio Books

Register with the National Library Service (NLS) to be able to receive an NLS digital playback device. Then you will be able to download the playback and have access to the audio book files. 

 

Braille Institute- The Braille Special Collection

This program offers up to four books a year to children who are blind or have low vision in the United States and Canada. 

 

CVI Book Nook

PowerPoint stories that are formatted for you to print at home. You can change many elements such as font size, color and background. 

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library BrailleTales

While this program primarily focuses on print books, some local affiliates may offer braille versions or adaptations of books for children with visual impairments. Check with your local Imagination Library chapter for options.

National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled- Braille - on - Demand

Registered NLS users can request up to 5 braille books per month to keep. Compete the form and submit to begin your braille library collection. 

Oakmont Visual Aids Workshop

Oakmont Visual Aids Workshop provides free, handmade braille with the support of volunteers. The braille books support learning concepts such as letters, shapes, size comparisons and more. 

Seedlings Braille Books for Children

Seedlings provides free braille books to children with visual impairments up to age 21 in the United States. They offer a wide range of braille books and can be contacted for more information on their programs.
