Meet Angie
My family and I can often be found outdoors on one trail or another, whether its hiking, mountain biking, or out in our Jeep! We enjoy kayaking, camping, campfires, swimming, and so much more in the outdoors! How can you not when you grow up in beautiful Northern Michigan. And even though I'm the only one who simply can't wait for the beauty of winter (and the cold - another byproduct of my northern Michigan upbringing, I suppose), my family humors me by building snowmen, learning to ski and snowboard, going sledding, and ice skating!

My journey as a graphic designer began in college when I fell in love with Typography during an art class I was the computer lab assistant for. What I thought my future would look like as a journalist, quickly changed to art and design, and color, and text, and photography, and drawing, and all the beautiful things I was beginning to notice in a new way. So, when I left college, I was armed with a journalism degree supplemented by an art minor and a media design and technology minor. It was the perfect combination and a sneak peek into my future.

This new trail sparked a deep curiosity and passion for lifelong learning. It made me wonder, what else had I missed? I decided then that each year, I would pick something new to learn or do throughout the year. And to also look for the tidbits of knowledge daily. (Just yesterday, I learned how to determine the difference between a male and female monarch butterfly. We have been raising them in our house this summer and have three chrysalis' that are about to open and another round of caterpillars busily eating milkweed leaves and growing quickly!)

On my ever-growing list of things to achieve, "writing a children's book" always sat at the bottom waiting for its change to move to the top! And while our Eye Am books are not actually written by me, I can't think of a better way to use my craft than to create something that allows people and children with low vision to see, and read, and hopefully spark a passion to learn something new each day (or year) as well! I look forward to this new "trail" we are on and hope you will join us!
